Job summary

The Tenax Schools Trust is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to support learning on a one-to-one basis, including intimate care, across KS1 and EYFS. The role is temporary, linked to pupil funding, and requires a proactive, adaptable approach and strong teamwork.

Salary is £24,796 FTE with actual pro rata approximately £18,818 for 32.5 hours per week over 39 weeks per year. The post runs 8.30am–3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience with children in learning support or similar roles.
• Enthusiastic, consistent, and adaptable; able to think on your feet.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Paediatric First Aid is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Aid pupils to learn effectively in group and one-to-one settings.
• Support across KS1 and EYFS classes and students outside class expectations.
• Contribute to a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with safeguarding, health, and safety practices as part of duties.
• Prepare resources and adapt activities to meet learning goals.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate with teachers and SENCO as required.
