Job summary

Sealed Air is seeking an Extrusion Operator to assist with running the Blown Film Extruders and recycling line. The role includes shift work on 12-hour days and nights, machine setup, testing, and adherence to health and safety standards.

You will monitor production, troubleshoot issues, perform quality checks, and maintain logs while working as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production machinery and following SOPs.
• Experience with blown and cast film processes is preferred.
• Ability to handle hot polymers and related equipment.
• Good communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Run blown film extruders and recycling line.
• Set up machines at shift start to ensure proper operation.
• Perform tests to ensure optimal production.
• Maintain and clean machines before/after each shift.
• Monitor speeds and quality of output.
• Troubleshoot machine issues during operation.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on products.
• Ensure materials are stocked and available.
• Create and maintain activity logs.
• Report progress to supervisors/managers.
• Adhere to Health & Safety rules and perform safety checks.

What You'll Do

An exciting opportunity to join the team as an Extrusion Operator who will assist in the running of Blown Film Extruders and the recycling line. Extrusion Operators work on a shift rotation covering 12 hour shifts on days and nights.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Be As Follows

• Assist in the running of the Blown Film Extruders and recycling line
• Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure correct working order
• Perform operating testing procedures to ensure the machine works optimally during the production process
• Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift
• Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running speed
• Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
• Ensure that machines are producing quality product by managing periodic quality checks on output
• Ensure stocks of materials are ready and available at all times
• Create and maintain activity logs
• Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors/management
• Adhere to Health & Safety rules and department standards, performing regular safety checks

What You'll Need

• Knowledge of operating machinery
• Experience of working with blown film and cast film preferable
• Experience of working with hot polymers, blenders, profile extrusion and injection moulding would be an advantage
• Ability to understand standard operating procedures
• Effective communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Work well within a team
• Remain calm under pressure
