Job summary

Amcor is seeking an Extrusion Operator in Bromborough to support the manufacturing of high-quality blown extrusion film while upholding safety standards. The role starts with 2–3 weeks of training, then shifts to a 4 on 4 off pattern (2 days/2 nights) with Mon-Fri 9am-5pm during training.

You will monitor quality, data, and line performance, and report hazards while contributing to a team-focused environment in a global packaging leader.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating extrusion equipment (desirable).
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (desirable). Full training provided.
  • Good teamwork and communication.
  • Positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work.
  • Report hazards and act on them accordingly.
  • Maintain housekeeping on all extrusion lines.
  • Monitor product quality and perform checks per specifications.
  • Monitor line output, utilization, and scrap against targets.
  • Operate extrusion machinery and manage recycling equipment.
  • Record data accurately and input it correctly.
  • Provide a clear handover to the incoming operator.

About the role

As an Extrusion Operator you will support with the manufacturing of high quality blown extrusion film ensuring it meets customer standards whilst maintaining a safe working environment. During the training period (normally 2-3 weeks) you will work Mon-Fri 9am-5pm before moving on to shift and reporting into the Shift Manager. Shift pattern is 4 on 4 off, 2 days/2nights.

Key responsibilities to include:

  • Working safe in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work
  • Reporting all hazards and act on them accordingly
  • Housekeeping on all extrusion lines
  • Monitor of product quality and ensure all quality checks and testing is carried out in line with specifications
  • Monitor and manage line output rates, utilisation, scrap levels against plan/targets on each line
  • Operate extrusion machinery and monitor and manage recycling equipment on each unit
  • Ensure accurate data is recorded and inputted correctly
  • Ensure a good handover of information to the incoming operator
Experience/Qualifications:
  • Experience in the operation of extrusion equipment (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (desirable) Full training will be provided.
