Job summary

ALPLA UK is hiring a Machine Technician at Golborne (WA3). The role focuses on keeping moulding machines and ancillary equipment in top condition, with emphasis on minimizing downtime and scrap.

Training is provided on ALPLA machinery, with an eye on safety and cleanliness. The successful candidate will perform quality checks at the packing stage and support continuous production, reporting defects and maintaining material supply to prevent stoppages.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
• Mechanical or Electrical engineering experience (Relevant qualification preferred).
• Previous experience of operating/running machinery – training provided on ALPLA machinery.
• Exposure to plastic manufacturing process would be advantageous but not essential.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• To ensure that moulding machines and ancillary equipment are in good running order; report defects and carry out remedial work within technician competence.
• Ensure product at the packing station meets quality standards; regular checks on production quality, weight and paperwork.
• Remove, clean, refit, realign or adjust parts of moulding machines (heads, tooling, blowpins, blades, ancillary equipment).
• Ensure raw material supplies are constant by bin changes; report if a fresh bin is not available to avoid machine issues.
• Maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness of machines, equipment and immediate work area.
