Job summary

ALPLA UK currently has an opportunity for a Machine Technician at our Golborne (WA3) base plant. The role focuses on extrusion blow moulding machines, quality checks, and timely material changes to minimize downtime.

The position offers a 4 on 6 off shift basis and a starting salary of £35,000, with both permanent and fixed term contracts available. Applicants should have a mechanical or electrical engineering background and experience operating machinery, with training provided on ALPLA

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
• Mechanical or electrical engineering background (qualification preferred).
• Experience operating machinery; training provided on ALPLA equipment.
• Exposure to plastic manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure moulding machines and ancillary equipment run to specification.
• Check product quality at packing; complete relevant paperwork accurately.
• Adjust or maintain machines and tooling within competence level.
• Manage raw material bins to prevent downtimes and shortages.
• Keep work area clean and safe with good housekeeping.
