Job summary

De Montfort University is seeking an External Window Cleaner to join the campus team on a part-time basis. You will clean both external and internal windows across the university buildings on a 20-hour week schedule (Mon-Fri, 10:00–14:00).

The role requires reliable, detail‑oriented individuals with driving licence, capable of using a trailer-based water-fed pole system outside and traditional methods inside, delivering high standards of cleanliness and excellent customer service.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated External Window Cleaner to join our team. As part of Estates and Facilities, you will help create a positive environment that supports the learning, teaching, and research activities of the University.

This is a hands‑on role where attention to detail, pride in your work, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential. You will work as part of a supportive team to maintain the University's buildings to the highest standards, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and welcoming for our diverse community and focuses on the student experience

As an External Window Cleaner, this role incorporates all duties related to both external and internal window cleaning, using a trailer-based water fed pole system externally, with more traditional widow cleaning methods internally.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual who:

• Will ideally have previous cleaning experience
• Will have experience of using modern cleaning methods and using cleaning machinery and tools. You will be provided with training when you join the team.
• Holds a full driving licence.
• Takes pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness.
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Are reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Can follow cleaning procedures, instructions, and health and safety requirements.

The position is part of a small daytime team on campus, working across all university buildings. You will be required to work 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 10:00am-2:00pm, although flexibility on the start time will be considered for the successful candidate.

The salary shown will be pro-rated down to reflect the part time hours.
