Job summary

De Montfort University in Leicester is seeking an enthusiastic Evening Cleaner to join our Estates and Facilities team. You will help maintain our buildings to a high standard and support the student experience with a clean and welcoming environment.

This is a hands-on, part-time role (12.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 5:00–7:30pm) involving general and reactive cleaning, and occasional support for ceremonies and events. Reliability, attention to detail and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience preferred.
• Willingness to follow cleaning procedures and health & safety rules.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

We are seeking reliable and motivated Cleaners to join our team. As part of Estates and Facilities, you will help create a positive environment that supports the learning, teaching, and research activities of the University.

This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, pride in your work, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential. You will work as part of a supportive team to maintain the University's buildings to the highest standards, ensuring they remain clean, safe, and welcoming for our diverse community and focuses on the student experience

As an evening Cleaner, this busy and varied role incorporates all duties related to both general and reactive cleaning, assistance with ceremonies and corporate events and ensuring all buildings are maintained to the highest standard to enhance our facilities for all students, staff and visitors.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an individual who:

• Will ideally have previous cleaning experience
• Will have experience of using modern cleaning methods and using cleaning machinery and tools. You will be provided with training when you join the team.
• Take pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness.
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Are reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Can follow cleaning procedures, instructions, and health and safety requirements.

• Are willing to undertake training and development as required.

The position is part of a large team on campus, working within allocated university buildings. You will be required to work 12.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 5:00-7:30pm, with an early finish on Friday.

The salary shown will be pro-rated down to reflect the part time hours.
