We're recruiting an External Communications Officer on behalf of an established organisation delivering essential services to communities across the UK.
Joining a busy communications team, you'll help protect the organisation's reputation, promote its achievements and keep external audiences informed. This varied opportunity combines proactive PR, campaign delivery and content creation with reactive media handling.
You’ll have experience in media relations, public relations or external communications, with excellent writing and proofreading skills and strong attention to detail.
You’ll be confident managing competing priorities, building relationships and communicating clearly in a fast-paced environment. Experience creating social media content and a good working knowledge of digital channels and Microsoft Office 365 are also important.
Experience within utilities, infrastructure or a similar environment would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant transferable experience are encouraged to apply. An understanding of internal communications would also be useful.
A full UK driving licence is essential due to travel requirements. You must also be comfortable participating in an out-of-hours rota to support communications during incidents and emergencies.
