We bake our incredible biscuits at eight bakeries across the UK, located at Isle of Arran, Livingston, Blackpool, Llantarnam, Edinburgh, Kirkham, Batley & Dorset and our HQ in St Albans. Together, we employ circa 4,000 amazing colleagues across all our locations.

About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced External Communications Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing communications strategies that enhance our brand reputation and engage external stakeholders. This role requires a strategic thinker, with a creative mindset, excellent communications skills and ability to manage multiple projects. Reporting to the Director of Sustainability and External Communications you will play a leading role in shaping our external communication strategy and delivery across corporate, consumer and trade PR, managing a multi-channel approach.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop corporate communications, consumer PR and trade PR strategies, managing the annual calendar alongside agencies and internal stakeholders, to support the delivery of the reputation ambition and communications objectives
• Manage Press Office, alongside the corporate agency, media monitoring and provide counsel to customer care team, as required
• Deliver strategic counsel and insights on media issues to support the business
• Monitor and report on industry developments, providing full & regular insight to the business on PR areas
• Formulate compelling PR narratives around key topics of sustainability, community, nutrition, packaging, UK profile
• Develop overall corporate digital strategy and playbook for the Group. Oversight of all corporate digital platforms
• Leverage evaluation metrics and insights to enhance performance of programmes and campaigns
• Work closely with the Ferrero UK Corporate Affairs team and wider Ferrero ecosystem to protect and enhance the group reputation ensuring Q&As, crisis management plans and responsible communications training are kept up to date
• Managing monthly functional internal reporting
  
  

Who We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in relevant subject such as English, journalism, business, communications or public relations
• Minimum 10 years experience in external communications either in-house or in consultancy
• Proven track record of successful media relations and content creation
• Capable media handler - in order to ensure an appropriate external communication
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Attention to detail, methodical and results-oriented
• Curiosity, self-motivated and a can-do attitude
• Ability to think strategically and creatively
• Ability to build positive relationships and engage with different stakeholders – a people person
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Have an interest in the FMCG marketing sector, staying up to date with global trends
• Proficiency in social media platforms, Microsoft Office Suite
