Hours: Full Time, 36 hours per week
Job Status: 12-month fixed-term contract (with the possibility of extension)
Location: Home-based, with some travel within England

We are recruiting an External Affairs and Policy Manager (Skills) to actively involve in skills policy and reform, benefiting the adult social care workforce. Reporting to the Head of External Affairs and Policy, and working closely with our workforce skills team, the successful candidate will help understand and influence skills policy, develop policy positions, and advance them through public affairs activities. They will support colleagues across the organization to align workforce initiatives with relevant policy changes and ensure the adult social care workforce is adequately represented and valued in skills policy development and implementation.
The role includes owning and developing an influencing plan to support an effective skills pipeline and skills development in adult social care. This involves collaboration with bodies such as the Department for Education, Skills England, and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in skills and education policy, a strong network within the skills sector, and excellent communication, engagement, and influencing skills to ensure representation of the adult social care sector in skills policy and reforms.
