Job summary

Ashbury CE Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic person to support its Extended Provision before and after school club in term time. The role focuses on childcare, creative play, keeping children safe, preparing healthy food, administering first aid and medication, and maintaining records.

The post is 15 hours per week, split between an early-morning session and an afternoon-to-evening session, Monday to Friday. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience in childcare or after-school provision.
• First aid certification or training.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate with parents.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and creative play for children in line with childcare policy.
• Deputise for the playleader when required.
• Support children's individual needs and maintain behaviour boundaries.
• Manage handover/collection of children to parents or carers.
• Support safety procedures, risk assessments and fire drills.
• Prepare healthy food and drinks in line with school guidelines.
• Assist with day-to-day administration and record keeping.
• Work with the school team to promote the club.
• Administer first aid and medication as appropriate.
• Attend playwork training and local networking opportunities.
• Foster constructive relationships with parents and professionals.

This term-time post supports the Extended Provision club at Ashbury CE Primary School, which runs before and after the school day. The work centres on childcare and creative play, keeping children safe, preparing healthy food, giving first aid and medication, and keeping records. What the job involves

• Provide care and creative play for children, in line with childcare legislation
• Deputise for the playleader when required
• Help the playleader meet children's individual needs and maintain behaviour boundaries
• Manage the handover and collection of children, including safe handover to parents or carers
• Support the playleader in keeping the club safe, covering equipment, hygiene, safety procedures, risk assessments and fire drills, including trips and off-site activities
• Prepare healthy food and drink that meets school food guidelines and food safety law
• Help with day-to-day administration and record keeping
• Work as part of the whole school team and help promote the club
• Administer first aid and medication as appropriate
• Take part in playwork training and local networking for out-of-school childcare providers
• Maintain constructive relationships with parents, carers, other professionals and childcare or play agencies
• Work within agreed policies and undertake other duties appropriate to the grade
