Role Overview

We are seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer with experience in the water industry to join our team ahead of AMP 8. This role offers flexibility with hybrid working arrangements and can be based at multiple offices in the South of England, including Brighton, Ashford, Kings Hill, London, Reading, or High Wycombe.

In this position, you will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and design to construction support. You will collaborate with project managers, technical leaders, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver impactful water infrastructure projects that support sustainable development and climate resilience. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional growth.

Candidate Profile
  • Chartered Mechanical Engineer (preferably with IMechE) with experience in water industry mechanical design.
  • Proficient in producing technical specifications, designing pumping and aeration systems, and preparing reports.
  • Skilled in creating and reviewing technical outputs such as General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and P&ID diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and lead design discussions and workshops.
  • Experience in assessing existing infrastructure and developing mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment processes.
