Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for creating sustainable solutions? Join Stantec and help us tackle the urgent climate, environmental, and efficiency challenges facing our communities.
This is an expression of interest ahead of AMP 8. We are open to speaking to Principal Mechanical Engineers interested in joining us in the South of England. This role can be based at various offices in the region, including Brighton, Ashford, Kings Hill, London, Reading, or High Wycombe.
With hybrid working, this role offers a combination of in-office and home working, ideal for an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to advance their career in a leading industry consultancy working on impactful water sector projects.
We partner with top water clients across the UK, working on major projects that promote sustainable development and infrastructure to combat climate change.
You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and optioneering to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations.
You will liaise with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners, and other stakeholders to ensure project success and community benefit. You will also mentor junior team members and support their development.

You should have experience in producing and reviewing technical outputs such as specifications, sizing and designing pumping and aeration systems, schedules, and reports, and be familiar with collaborative planning and design reviews.
You will contribute to design outputs in collaboration with other disciplines, including General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to deliver technical presentations and participate in design discussions, safety reviews, HAZOPs, and ALMs. You will provide technical leadership and support the development of junior engineers.
Understanding water and wastewater treatment processes and assessing existing infrastructure are key. Experience in energy, infrastructure, or environmental sectors is also valued.
Most importantly, embody and promote our values of client focus, community-oriented design, collaboration, and service excellence.
