Job summary

Noble Recruiting is seeking an experienced Export Operator to join our Basildon-based freight and logistics team. You will manage export bookings, coordinate multi-modal shipments and liaise with sales and clients to grow cross-trade opportunities.

The role requires strong regulatory knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment. Salary £32,000 per year with standard hours 9:00am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in EXPORT Multi Modal & Cross Trade operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Strong understanding of operational workflows, including documentation flow and stakeholder coordination.
• Excellent communication skills with clients, hauliers, overseas partners and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience liaising with overseas agents and coordinating international shipments.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily Export bookings, manage clients and key accounts.
• Liaise with Sales and other related departments to monitor new & existing business across Export and Cross Trade.
• Oversee and coordinate multi-modal export shipments, ensuring timely delivery across all transportation modes including sea, air and road.
• Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and other relevant export standards to ensure all shipments meet legal requirements.
• Liaise with 3PL providers, carriers, customs authorities, and internal departments to facilitate smooth export operations.
• Negotiate rates and terms with logistics providers to optimise cost-efficiency while maintaining high service standards.
• Maintain detailed records of export transactions, shipment statuses, and compliance documentation for audit purposes.
• Booking and handling of general EXPORT bookings and enquiries.
• Managing collections/overseas deliveries and customs documents.
• Invoicing for Export & Cross Trade department in a timely manner.
• Negotiating with suppliers for competitive prices.

Salary: £32,000 per annum

Working hours: 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday

Experience/Skills we are looking for:

• Proven experience in EXPORT Multi Modal & Cross Trade operations within a freight forwarding environment.
• Strong understanding of operational workflows, including trailer arrivals, inbound planning, documentation flow, and stakeholder coordination.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, hauliers, overseas partners, and internal teams.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience liaising with overseas agents and coordinating international shipments
• Own transport desirable due to the location of the Company.
