Job summary

SRT Marine Systems plc is seeking a Shipping and Logistics Manager (Export) to own end-to-end distribution of products from purchase to delivery, ensuring export compliance and optimized freight. The role is based in Bristol & Midsomer Norton with hybrid working, occasional overseas travel, and close collaboration with the Head of Systems Procurement.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on logistics, freight forwarding or project-cargo experience.
• Analytical, process-driven and data-driven mindset for continuous improvement.
• Practical customs clearance knowledge.
• Desirable UK export licensing experience (including SPIRE) - training provided.

Responsibilities

• Own the shipping requirement for all Systems programmes, current and future.
• Plan and forecast delivery needs with programme delivery teams and the PMO, early enough to move eligible volume by sea freight rather than air.
• Consolidate shipments and phase customs clearances to reduce per-shipment freight and clearance costs.
• Manage day-to-day freight forwarder and customs agent relationships and performance for the Systems business, and lead rate negotiation input within the framework owned by the Head of Systems Procurement.
• Own supplier relationships where SRT buys on EX Works (EXW) terms and arranges collection.
• Facilitate direct-from-supplier shipments, working with the Senior Supply Chain Coordinator.
• Own the export licensing process in consultation with the Procurement Manager.
• Manage licence applications and end-user undertakings, and ensure licensing and export documentation is provided throughout the shipping process.
• Be accountable for distribution from purchase to end-user delivery including export, import clearance and in-country delivery.
• Engage with the in-country Logistics and Supply Chain Manager on final delivery.
• Liaise with the SRT warehouse team on consignment readiness.
