Responsibilities
About the team:
Development & Structured Export Finance (DSE) handles financing and advisory solutions for importers and exporters, focusing on exports, sustainable development, and energy transition. It involves advisory, structuring, and financing for sovereigns, corporates, financial institutions, and development banks, including Export Credit Agencies and Public Institutions. DSE collaborates with other GLBA lines for project and asset-based financing.
The DSE London mission includes:
- Origination and execution of financing solutions supported by UK Export Finance (“UKEF”), private insurers (“PRI”), and Development Financial Institutions (DFI) like UKIB for overseas borrowers and UK exporters.
- Executing advisory and project finance mandates involving ECAs and other GLBA business lines.
- Managing relationships with UK-based clients, UKEF, and UKIB, supporting the origination and execution of ECA/PRI covered financings.
Key Purposes of the Role:
- Assist senior team members in originating and executing financings supported by UKEF, UKIB, and DFIs.
- Support in executing advisory mandates and project finance deals involving ECAs and private insurers.
- Maintain and develop relationships with UKEF, UKIB, and UK-based clients.
- Assist in reporting and managing pipeline updates, budgets, and business reports.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in financing origination and execution, including use of the GLBA Financing Platform and preparing necessary documentation.
- Contribute to the annual budget for the DSE UK team.
- Develop relationships with UK-based clients and support team efforts in client coverage and relationship management.
- Coordinate with the Head of DSE UK and senior team members on commercial activities and strategy communication.
- Monitor deals in Watch List, under default, or restructuring, especially those involving UKEF, in collaboration with regional teams and risk management.
- Handle operational and administrative risks related to UKEF and UKIB.
- Contribute to developing new funding solutions aligned with DSE’s mission.
Profile required
Technical:
- Understanding of the loan market, instruments, credit, and rates derivatives.
- Ability to produce clear, structured pitch materials addressing client needs.
- Responsibility in managing conduct, reputational, financial, credit, and legal risks.
