Job Description:

CFRA is the global leader in forensic accounting research, analytics, and advisory services. Our mission is to uncover red flags based on poor quality of reported financial results, weak operational metrics, or corporate governance problems to help clients make sound investment and risk management decisions. We are an independent, entrepreneurial company with a 30-year track record.

We are seeking a forensic accounting research analyst to lead our coverage of U.S. and European listed public companies in the financial sector, including banks, brokerages, payment networks and processors, and other sub-industries. The analyst will also cover the real estate sector.

The analyst will primarily conduct and publish forensic accounting research on specific companies and industries for dissemination to institutional investor clients. The research will be a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, including rigorous financial statement analysis and interpretation of company-specific and sector-specific data. The analyst will also complete bespoke research requests, maintain industry-specific dashboards, respond to ad hoc client inquiries, and communicate research findings and views regularly both virtually and in-person.

This is a remote role. CFRA maintains workspace in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rigorous analysis of U.S. and European financials, public company financial data, news, and other information to identify the varied risks facing companies.
  • Publish high-impact reports to be delivered to investment managers, hedge funds, and other clients detailing our research findings.
  • Communicate with clients regarding companies analyzed, industry issues, and accounting topics of interest.
  • Collaborate with members of the U.S. and European and industry-specific sector teams.
  • Perform custom research projects for clients, as requested.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience in finance, auditing, or with a financial regulator (FDIC, OCC, etc.)
  • Experience researching, analyzing, or auditing companies
  • Strong background in financial statement analysis
  • At least one of the following credentials a plus: CPA, CFA, MBA
  • Strong knowledge of and interest in financial markets
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, and ability to work well within a team environment
  • Experienced presentation delivery, including comfort in discussing analysis and methodology in a face-to-face environment to prospects and clients
  • Willingness to occasionally travel for client meetings and internal events
  • Benefits include 20 days of vacation, 8 sick days, 10-11 holidays, company-paid life & disability insurance, competitive pay, annual performance bonus, and 401K match.
