The Creative Play Lab is The LEGO Group’s innovation department, tasked with inventing the future of LEGO play! The Experimental Research Team are kids experts, pioneering new ways to understand kids and ensuring our new play experiences satisfy and delight the builders of tomorrow!

Responsibilities

  1. Develop the experimentation and research capability.
  2. Set the vision, strategic priorities, and OKRs for the Experimental Research Team, ensuring we de-risk new propositions, pioneer experimentation methods, and champion the child's perspective in development.
  3. Identify key initiatives, tools, training, and collaborate with team members and Capability Leads to deliver them.
  4. Manage and resource a team of 10-15 Innovation Researchers across London, Billund, and Singapore, from diverse backgrounds. Conduct performance reviews, hiring, onboarding, and coaching.
  5. Build and maintain an experimentation toolbox supporting agile testing and learning, and manage budgets and vendors.
  6. Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making organization-wide, developing training and resources.
  7. Champion audience-first innovation by engaging closely with kids to ensure propositions meet their needs.
  8. Measure and communicate research impact on innovation outcomes and business performance.

Qualifications

  1. Extensive experience in experimentation, design research, insights, data, or business intelligence, with both agency and brand-side experience, including multi-method, multi-market studies.
  2. Proven experience in innovation and product development.
  3. Experience in building and scaling new capabilities and teams within large organizations.
  4. Leadership experience managing 10+ remote/hybrid team members.
  5. Ability to manage senior stakeholders across design, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing.
  6. Experience managing large budgets and toolboxes.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the toys and games industry.
  • Workshop design and facilitation skills.
