Job summary

Pontefract, West Yorkshire-based position with Reed Education for a Teaching Assistant. Full-time, long-term starting September in a welcoming primary setting. You will support KS1 and KS2, delivering engaging lessons and interventions to help pupils access the curriculum.

Reed Education are currently working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the Pontefract area who are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who enjoys working across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 and wants to become an integral part of a thriving school community.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2, helping to create engaging learning experiences and ensuring all children can access the curriculum effectively.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom
• Working with small groups and individual pupils
• Providing targeted interventions where required
• Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and abilities
• Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons
• Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and development
• Contributing positively to the wider school environment
