Turner Property Recruitment are partnering with a growing property consultancy to appoint an Experienced or Senior Building Surveyor to join their Southampton team. The role offers exposure across Southampton, the South Coast and London markets, handling a varied range of commercial property instructions.

You will manage your own projects and clients, working alongside a team of experienced professionals and contributing to ongoing growth of the Building Surveying service.

Qualifications

• MRICS qualification or working towards chartership with strong relevant experience.
• Several years' experience within a Building Surveying consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge across core Building Surveying services.
• Experience with commercial property and report writing.
• Ability to manage client relationships and communicate with stakeholders.
• Ambition to progress within a growing consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking building surveys and technical due diligence.

Turner Property Recruitment are working with a growing property consultancy who are looking to appoint an Experienced or Senior Building Surveyor to join their Southampton team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor who is looking for a varied role across the Southampton, South Coast and London markets, working on a diverse range of commercial property instructions.

The successful candidate will join an established team and have the opportunity to take ownership of their own projects and clients, while working alongside experienced professionals across the wider business.

The Role

You will be involved across a broad range of Building Surveying instructions, providing high-quality technical advice to a varied client base.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking building surveys and technical due diligence.
• Preparing schedules of condition.
• Defect diagnosis and providing technical advice to clients.
• Preparing planned maintenance and lifecycle advice.
• Advising clients on repair and refurbishment requirements.
• Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation.
• Contract administration and project monitoring.
• Preparing and reviewing dilapidations reports.
• Managing your own instructions and client relationships.
• Attending site meetings and carrying out inspections.
• Producing clear and concise technical reports.
• Liaising with contractors, clients and other professional advisers.
• Supporting junior members of the Building Surveying team where appropriate.
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Building Surveying service.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor who is confident working independently and managing their own instructions.

You will ideally have:

• MRICS qualification, or be working towards chartership with strong relevant experience.
• Several years' experience within a Building Surveying consultancy.
• Strong technical knowledge across core Building Surveying services.
• Experience working on commercial property.
• Good report writing and technical documentation skills.
• Experience with surveys, defect diagnosis, planned maintenance and/or project work.
• The ability to manage client relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders.
• A proactive and commercially aware approach.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple instructions.
• The ambition to continue developing your career within a growing consultancy.
