Job summary

TimePlan Education is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant for a full-time long-term role in Havering, East London. The successful candidate will support the class teacher, provide one-to-one and small-group support, and help pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider learning, including SEND.

Ideal candidates will have prior experience in a primary school, strong communication skills, and the ability to start ASAP.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA who can quickly settle into a classroom, build strong relationships with pupils and provide effective support from day one.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support the class teacher with day-to-day teaching and learning
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support
• Assist pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider learning
• Support children with SEND and additional learning needs
• Assist with classroom activities, preparation and organisation
• Promote positive behaviour and pupil engagement
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Help create a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment

We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school
• Be confident supporting pupils across the primary age range
• Have a strong understanding of classroom support and pupil development
• Be comfortable supporting children with a range of abilities and needs
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be proactive, reliable and adaptable
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Be available to start ASAP

Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs would be highly advantageous.
