Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an Experienced MET Technician in Leicester to work on accident-damaged vehicles. You will perform mechanical, electrical and trim operations, remove and refit components, and ensure safe reassembly to manufacturer methods.

This role offers a Monday–Friday, 40-hour week, with a modern workshop and ongoing training. IMI/ATA qualifications are advantageous but not essential; a Full UK Driving Licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as MET Technician in an accident repair centre.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and trim operations on modern vehicles.
• Experience removing and refitting vehicle components accurately and efficiently.
• Good understanding of vehicle construction, suspension, steering, braking systems and mechanical diagnostics.
• Ability to identify additional damage and communicate repair requirements effectively.
• Professional, reliable and organised with a positive team-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim repairs, including removal and refitting of vehicle components.
• Strip and refit vehicle parts for panel repairs, painting and reassembly.
• Diagnose faults and identify additional damage or repair needs.
• Work on suspension, steering, braking systems and related components as required.
• Coordinate with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians and Damage Assessors to maintain workflow.
• Ensure all components are correctly fitted and vehicle systems function as required.
• Follow manufacturer repair methods and quality standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment following Health & Safety policies.
