Torftech is a design engineering and intellectual property business specializing in licensing and selling proprietary TORBED and TORWAVE processors (www.torftech.com). Our technology is used in industries such as food, mineral, and waste management for processes like gas scrubbing and calcination. These devices are designed to enhance process efficiency and facilitate innovations like hydro-carbon substitution and waste recycling.

We are a small, close-knit team committed to curiosity and intellectual rigor. Due to growing business volumes, we are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to succeed our current engineer, who is retiring. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience with high-temperature industrial process plants and materials handling, including refractory design and installation.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will work independently after familiarization with our technologies and will eventually oversee the mechanical engineering functions. Responsibilities include process design, CAD drawing (Inventor), review of manufacturing drawings, fault diagnosis, maintenance planning, testing, and liaising with suppliers.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Engineering or related field
• Experience in mechanical or process engineering, especially thermal processes and materials handling
• Interest in gas/solid processing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to work remotely
• Valid UK residence and work permits
