Job summary

Dees Cycles in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, is seeking an experienced bicycle mechanic to join a busy shop. You will service and repair bicycles, book in work, build bikes for sale, and assist customers before, during and after servicing.

The role requires at least two years of bike-mechanic experience, a good command of English, and basic IT skills. You will work as part of a friendly team, handling sales, stock and shop duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of bicycle mechanic experience preferred.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Basic IT skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to identify and perform shop tasks as part of the team.

Responsibilities

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Mechanic who would enjoy working in a busy environment, working on all manner of cycles, together with general duties throughout the shop.

The Role includes:

• Booking in, service/repair bicycles, liaising with customers as required before, during and after servicing.
• Build and check new bikes ready for sale/display/test rides.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff.
• Help out as necessary throughout the shop, including sales, stock handling, etc.

Skills/Experience Required

• Ideally at least two years’ experience as a bicycle mechanic, with Cytec level 2 or higher - although not necessary as further training can be provided for the right candidate.
• A good command of spoken and written English are necessary, Basic IT skills would be an advantage.
• Willingness and initiative to identify work that needs doing in any part of the shop, and to carry this out as part of the team.
