Job summary

Keith Borer Consultants in the UK is seeking a Forensic Imagery Analyst to join our team on a full or part‑time basis. The role can be based at our Durham office or offered on a home working basis with training provided.

Travel UK wide is required; you will analyze imagery, prepare reports, advise Counsel, and support ISO 17025 accreditation. A driving licence and security clearance will be needed.

Qualifications

  • Requires relevant imagery analysis experience and up-to-date knowledge.
  • Degree or equivalent level qualifications (e.g., UKIAC or similar).
  • Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting analysis of imagery-based evidence using imagery analysis principles

Forensic Imagery Analyst
Role Overview

Keith Borer Consultants is a leading name in Forensic Science Consultancy and Expert Witness services. We are looking for an experienced imagery analyst to join our existing team on a full or part time basis. Depending on level of experience, the position can be based at our office in Durham or offered on a home working basis. It comes with on-the-job training that will be tailored to need and experience.

Duties will include

  • Communicating directly with customers to establish requirements and provide estimates
  • Devising investigation and examination strategies
  • Travelling UK wide, and on occasion further afield, to acquire imagery of people, places or objects or conduct site surveys where measurements or line of sight assessments are required
  • Conducting analysis of any imagery-based evidence utilising the fundamental principles of imagery analysis
  • Preparing written reports which are accurate and easy to understand
  • Reviewing the findings and reports of colleagues
  • Advising Counsel, preparing joint expert statements and presenting evidence at Court
  • Assisting in progressing towards ISO 17025 accreditation
  • Training co-workers, as applicable
  • Contributing to wider company practices, such as auditing and test witnessing

To be considered for this role you will have relevant subject-specific experience, be up-to-date with advances in this field, and ideally have a degree or equivalent level qualifications (e.g. UKIAC or similar). You must have a thorough knowledge of the principles of general analysis, be able to distinguish between fact and assumption, and have knowledge of all factors that may affect the perception of information provided within an image. You will be organised and diligent, self-motivated, organised, and able to take responsibility for your own workload. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a critical thinker and have good attention to detail. The ability to work efficiently and effectively, irrespective of deadline, is essential.

The standard working week for a full time employee is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday with hours to be agreed between 08:00 and 17:30.Travel throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and occasionally further afield is to be expected; flexibility will be required to accommodate this. A full UK driving licence is required.
