Job summary

Keith Borer Consultants is seeking an experienced Digital Forensics Specialist for our Durham office. The role involves direct client engagement, extracting and analysing digital evidence from mobile devices, and preparing clear reports.

You will peer review colleagues' work, advise Counsel, and contribute to maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation. Travel within the UK is expected, with a 37.5 hour week and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Subject-specific experience in digital forensics is required.
• A relevant degree or qualifications in this field are advantageous but not essential if experience can be demonstrated.
• Organised, diligent, self-motivated and able to manage workload.

Keith Borer Consultants is a leading name in Forensic Science Consultancy and Expert Witness services. We are looking for an experienced Digital Forensics Specialistto join the existing team at our Durham office. The role involves:

• Communicating directly with customers to establish requirements and provide estimates
• Extraction, processing and analysis of digital evidence relating to mobile phones, with the potential to diversify into other digital area/s of specialisation including computers, tachographs and cell site analysis
• Preparing written reports which are accurate and easy to understand
• Peer reviewing the reports of colleagues
• Advising Counsel, preparing joint expert statements and presenting evidence at Court
• Assisting in maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation
• Contributing to wider company practices, such as auditing and test witnessing

To be considered for this role you must have relevant subject-specific experience, and be up-to-date with advances in this field., A relevant degree or qualifications targeted at this type of role would be advantageous but not essential if appropriate experience can be demonstrated. You will also be organised and diligent, self-motivated, and able to take responsibility for your own workload. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, to be a critical thinker and to have good attention to detail. The ability to work efficiently and effectively, irrespective of deadline, is essential.

The position can be offered on a full or part time basis, with hours to be agreed between 08:00 and 17:30 Monday to Friday.Travel throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and occasionally further afield is to be expected; flexibility will be required to accommodate this. A full UK driving licence is required.
