Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils aged 11–19 across KS3–KS5 in Morpeth. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, run targeted interventions and support learning across subjects, working with staff to raise attainment and engagement.

This full-time, temporary role starts September 2026 with a view to permanence. HLTA status or equivalent, strong classroom management and understanding of the secondary curriculum are essential, along

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Experience delivering lessons and supporting whole-class learning.
• Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum.
• Ability to confidently manage classroom behaviour and engage learners.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive, organised and adaptable approach to supporting education.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities.
• Lead 1:1 and small group interventions to support attainment.
• Support lesson delivery and student progress with teaching staff.
• Monitor, record and report on attainment and behaviour.
• Adapt learning activities for students with additional needs.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
