Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced HLTA to support secondary schools in Morpeth. You will cover KS3–KS5, deliver pre-planned lessons, and provide targeted interventions. Ideal candidates will hold HLTA status, have strong classroom management, and be committed to inclusive education.

The role starts September 2026, is full-time and temporary with the potential to become permanent, on-site in Morpeth. You will work closely with teaching staff to support student achievement and reporting.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Experience in a secondary school setting.
• Experience delivering lessons and supporting learning.
• Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 11-19 across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Provide targeted 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Collaborate with staff to support lesson delivery and progress.
• Monitor and report on attainment and behaviour.
• Support students with additional learning needs and adapt learning activities where required.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
