Job summary

People Solutions is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician for a permanent role in Warrington. You will join a well-established workshop and work on maintenance, repair, fabrication and servicing of HGVs and trailers for major fleet operators across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, good fault-finding and diagnostic skills, and a proven ability to perform servicing and repairs to a high standard. UK working rights are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with HGVs, commercial vehicles or trailers.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs.
• Solid workshop Health & Safety understanding.
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Reliable and professional approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs across a range of HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Fault finding across hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Completing vehicle inspections and preparing for MOT.
• Repairing braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems.
• Carrying out trailer refurbishment and reconditioning.
• Completing welding and fabrication work where competent.
• Accurately completing job cards and maintenance documentation.
