Job description

Company Description

Founded in 2008, Holland Cooper is a luxury British lifestyle brand renowned for its timeless design, exceptional craftsmanship, and distinctive blend of heritage and modern sophistication. With a strong focus on tailoring, premium fabrics, and elevated styling, the brand has built a loyal global following and a powerful visual identity. At Holland Cooper, creativity, attention to detail, and commercial awareness sit at the heart of everything we do.

Role Description

As Garment Technologist, you will help ensure the technical integrity, fit and quality of Holland Cooper garments from proto through to production. Working closely with Design, Merchandising, Production and our supplier base, you will translate creative concepts into commercially viable, technically sound products that meet our brand standards.

  • Work across Ladieswear, Menswear and Childrenswear, supporting a wide range of product categories. Candidates with either specialist category expertise or broad technical knowledge will be considered.
  • Plan and attend fit sessions, providing clear supplier comments on measurements, tolerances, fit, workmanship, construction and packaging.
  • Fit, develop and approve samples in line with the brand aesthetic, required quality standards and target price points, from development through to production.
  • Develop, update and maintain technical specifications, size charts, measurement standards, technical documentation and product records within our PLM system.
  • Identify and resolve construction, fit, fabric, testing or quality issues with suppliers, manufacturers and third-party testing or QC partners.
  • Support the development and maintenance of technical brand manuals, ensuring standards are communicated clearly across the supply chain, including factories in the UK, Europe and the Far East.
  • Arrange seasonal block and specification reviews to validate blocks and grade rules.
  • Carry out occasional QC inspections on incoming goods against sealing samples and review external AQL inspections to approve goods for shipment.
  • Work to the critical path to meet internal and supplier deadlines, ensuring product arrives on time and to the required standard.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, promoting the value of the technical function across the business.
  • Work with suppliers to continually improve quality, ethical standards, production methods and product durability.
  • Based at our beautiful new Head Office in Cheltenham, UK.
Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Garment Construction and Fitting, with the ability to interpret patterns, technical drawings, and measurements.
  • Sound knowledge of Textiles, including fabric properties, performance, and suitability for luxury tailoring and outerwear.
  • Experience in Quality Control processes, including garment inspection, testing, and setting quality standards.
  • Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across design, production, and supplier teams.
  • Previous experience as a clothing or garment technologist within fashion, tailoring, or outerwear is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency in technical tools such as pattern-cutting software, CAD, or PLM systems is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining premium product standards.
  • Relevant qualification in Fashion Technology, Textile Science, Garment Technology, or a related field is preferred.
About you
  • Live within a commutable distance of our Head Office in Cheltenham, UK, or be willing to relocate.
  • Be comfortable working primarily from the office, with ad hoc working from home available. Due to the fast-paced, hands-on nature of the product role, regular office attendance is required.
  • Have a minimum of three years’ experience in a garment technology, product development or technical role. With a strong knowledge of product development, fit, engineering to cost and manufacturing standards.
  • Previous experience working for a brand is preferable, but not essential.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with different cultures and personalities.
  • Have a collaborative, team-focused approach with strong networking skills.
  • Be passionate about product, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Be flexible, open-minded and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where continuous change and improvement are encouraged.
  • Understand consumer expectations around fit and quality within a premium brand environment.
  • Be highly organised, with strong time management skills.
  • Be computer literate, ideally with experience using Excel, Word, Adobe and PLM systems.
