Job summary

The Best Connection is recruiting on behalf of a client in Darwen for an experienced Fabric Cutter to join their upholstery manufacturing team. Training and ongoing support are provided to help you settle in and develop your skills.

Key duties include cutting leather, vinyl and upholstery fabrics to patterns, reading sales orders, and maintaining high quality with minimal waste, all while meeting production deadlines and keeping a clean, organized workspace.

The Best Connection is recruiting on behalf of our client based in Darwen for an experienced

Fabric Cutter to join their growing upholstery manufacturing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with upholstery experience who is looking for a long-term position with a company that offers training and ongoing support.

Duties will include:

• Cutting leather, vinyl and upholstery fabrics to furniture patterns
• Reading and interpreting sales orders accurately
• Ensuring materials are cut to a high standard with minimal waste
• Working efficiently to meet production deadlines
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Communicating effectively with colleagues and the wider production team

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience within the upholstery industry (the more experience, the better)
• Experience cutting leather, vinyl and furniture patterns
• The ability to read and work from sales orders
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes
• A keen eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work

Training and support will be provided for the right candidate to help them settle into the role and develop their skills further.

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:45pm
• Friday: 7:45am - 1:00pm
• 10-minute morning break
• Total: 39 hours per week

Pay:

£14.60 per hour

Recruitment Process:

Successful candidates may be invited to attend a practical bench test/trial to demonstrate their skills. Strong references may also be accepted in place of a practical assessment.
