Confidential in Southend-on-Sea is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a friendly, established practice. You will manage bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio and ensure accuracy of records.

The role covers VAT returns, invoices processing, bank reconciliations, and collaboration with clients using Xero, Sage and QuickBooks. A proactive, detail-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in bookkeeping within an accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar software
• Experience preparing and submitting VAT returns

• Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and client-facing skills

Responsibilities

• Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across industries
• Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank reconciliations, and journals
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with management accounts preparation
• Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide ongoing support
