Job summary

Agility is recruiting an experienced Bookkeeper for a Blackpool-based practice. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping for a diverse client portfolio, process invoices, perform reconciliations and assist with VAT returns.

Qualifications

• Solid practical bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing VAT returns.
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and reconciliations.
• Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Good communication skills and confidence to deal directly with clients.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
• Processing sales and purchase invoices, payments, receipts and journals.
• Completing bank and control account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns, ensuring transactions are correctly coded.
• Managing purchase and sales ledgers and completing supplier statement reconciliations.
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and other journals as required.
• Producing management accounts and financial reports for clients.
• Assisting with year-end accounts preparation and related working papers.
• Supporting clients with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Building strong relationships with clients and providing practical bookkeeping support.
