Job summary

Guardian Selection Limited in Sheffield is seeking an Experienced Attendance Officer to monitor and improve student attendance. You will liaise with pupils, families and staff to identify attendance concerns and follow up on absences, helping remove barriers to regular school attendance.

The role requires prior attendance experience, safeguarding knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information.

Are you experienced in supporting school attendance and passionate about helping young people stay engaged with their education? A supportive school in Sheffield is looking for an experienced Attendance Officer to join its team.

About the Role

As an Attendance Officer, you will take an active role in monitoring and improving student attendance. You will work closely with pupils, families, teachers and pastoral staff to identify attendance concerns, follow up on absences and help remove barriers that may prevent students from attending school regularly.

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last two years.
• Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
• Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
• We also offer, via our partner, access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses.
