Lincoln International is seeking an Associate to join the Valuations & Opinions Group with fixed income structured product experience. You will work closely with senior bankers and clients, executing valuations from start to finish and supporting analysts and new business development.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical background in financial statements and valuation methodologies (DCF, LBO, comps).
  • Advanced financial modelling skills in Excel.
  • 2–5 years of structured products experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics from a top-tier institution.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, complete, and review financial models and valuation analyses.
  • Write and review valuation reports and presentations.
  • Value mortgage whole loans, student loans, consumer loans and securitized assets (RMBS, CMBS, CLO, ABS).
  • Develop and refine valuation models and inputs (loss, prepayment, market spreads).
  • Coordinate recurring valuation projects and oversee analysts.
  • Interact with clients and prepare deliverables.
  • Maintain proprietary valuation databases.
  • Track capital markets and analyze market changes.
  • Prepare marketing materials for client meetings.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lincoln International is seeking an Associate to join our rapidly growing Valuations & Opinions Group with fixed income structured product experience. Successful candidates have strong cognitive and interpersonal abilities, want to develop their professional and personal skills and are motivated by the prospect of building a leading valuations practice.

The Associate position at Lincoln International involves interacting closely with the firm’s senior bankers and clients’ senior executives. Our Associates are heavily involved in every aspect of a valuation and ultimately, master the ability to execute a valuation from start-to-finish. In addition, Associates are expected to contribute to Analysts’ development and support new business development efforts.

The Associate, Asset-Backed Finance position within the Valuations & Opinions Group provides an excellent opportunity to become an expert in valuations. Responsibilities at Lincoln International are often more entrepreneurial than at other firms providing self-motivated individuals with many opportunities to contribute to a dynamic and growing platform. Successful Associates are assertive, motivated self-starters with the desire and potential to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities include
  • Preparing, completing, and reviewing financial models and sophisticated valuation analyses
  • Writing and reviewing valuation reports and presentations
  • Valuation and analysis of amongst other things, mortgage whole loans, student loans, consumer loans as well as RMBS, CMBS, CLO, ABS, and other structured finance securities
  • Drive the development and refinement of valuation models and approaches to determine valuation inputs, including loss and prepayment vectors, as well as appropriate secondary market spreads
  • Coordinating recurring valuation projects with team members including providing oversight to analysts
  • Interacting with clients and preparing deliverables
  • Maintaining proprietary valuation databases
  • Tracking the capital markets and analyzing any changes within the markets
  • Preparing marketing materials for meetings with potential clients
Qualifications

The Associate, Asset-Backed Finance position at Lincoln International is extremely challenging, offers an excellent learning experience and provides a solid foundation upon which an individual can build a future business career.

  • Excellent analytic foundation with advanced understanding of financial statements and various valuation methodologies (DCF, LBO, comparable company analysis, etc.)
  • Proficiency at financial modeling with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Two to five years of structured products experience
  • Structuring, trading, or whole loan modelling experience desirable
  • Strong writing skills and experience with PowerPoint and Microsoft Word
  • Effective organizational skills and the aptitude to manage people and work products
  • Strong communication skills and experience interacting with teammates and clients
  • Four to six years of professional experience in valuations preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics from top tier institution; strong academic record (both undergraduate and graduate)
