Job summary

Baxi Heating UK Limited is seeking a Gas Engineer (Field Service) to diagnose, repair, and service domestic and light-commercial heating systems within a defined Exeter region. You will work independently in the field, delivering first-time fixes, safe operation, and customer-focused service.

The role operates on annualised hours, averaging 41.5 hours weekly with seasonal variance, and includes some weekend and bank holiday work to maintain coverage.

Qualifications

• ACS Gas qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1 or equivalent) – essential.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing domestic gas boilers and heating systems.
• Fault-finding and diagnostic experience with strong problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence and understanding of Gas Safe regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair domestic and commercial heating appliances to standards.
• Diagnose faults and deliver first-time fixes wherever possible.
• Commission new installations and ensure systems are optimized for performance.
• Complete work in line with Gas Safe regulations and health & safety policies.
• Manage daily schedule and prioritise workloads to meet SLAs.
• Provide technical advice to customers, installers, and contractors.
• Complete accurate digital job reports and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and promote service solutions.
• Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good order.
• Represent Baxi professionally at all times.
