Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer in Exeter to perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and building services. The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostic work, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with site teams to ensure continuous operations.

The candidate will identify risks, update drawings, manage PPMs, and support health and safety initiatives while ensuring documentation and permits are properly completed.

Qualifications

• Recognised or time-served apprenticeship.
• Strong proven experience in manufacturing maintenance.
• Electrical qualifications to 17th Edition (City & Guilds).
• Mechanical qualifications to City & Guilds standard.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, drives and inverters.
• Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
• Ability to fault find.
• PLC diagnostics/repair competencies.
• NVQ Level 2 in Electrical & Mechanical.
• Ability to supervise contractors.
• Ability to write risk & method statements.
• Ability to understand and write permits.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage risks to the client through equipment on site, including updating drawings, identifying critical spares, improving performance of machinery, and implementing the preventative maintenance program.
• Use new equipment and technologies to maintain a working production environment, liaising with the client on requests for machinery PPMs.
• Fault finding on all types of machinery.
• Support others in the department regarding Health and Safety.
• Write and follow Risk Assessments and be available to address issues safely and accurately.
• Complete required documentation per rules and legislation.
• Work on Three Phase Systems with voltages up to 440V.
• Work on motors, gearboxes, valves with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Use mobile devices to accurately project and complete works from CAFM system.
• Plan daily work using emails/calendars to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
• Liaise with onsite Site Services for Building Services issues, responding confidently.
• Be responsible for the department and deputise the Shift Leader during leave or sickness.
• Occasionally work overtime, nights or weekends as required.
• Perform ad hoc duties as needed.
