Job summary

Scott's Richmond is seeking an accomplished Head Sommelier to lead our wine program in a premier dining setting on the banks of the Thames. You will curate an exceptional list, guide guests, and elevate the wine experience alongside a passionate team.

In this leadership role you will mentor the sommelier team, host tastings, collaborate with management on wine-focused events, and ensure flawless inventory and service standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Head Sommelier or in a similar leadership role within a high-end restaurant.
• Extensive knowledge of wines, regions, and varietals, supported by relevant certifications.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Impeccable grooming and presentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently manage tasks.
• Familiarity with inventory management and ordering processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and curate the wine program, ensuring a diverse and exceptional selection.
• Provide expert recommendations to guests, suggesting wine pairings that enhance their dining experience.
• Training and mentoring the sommelier team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
• Conduct regular tastings and educational sessions for staff and guests.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute wine-focused events and promotions.
• Manage wine inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage conditions.
• Stay informed about industry trends, new releases, and emerging winemakers.
