Job description

We are seeking an exceptional Executive Secondary School Improvement Leader to provide strategic and hands-on leadership across two secondary mainstream schools based in the East Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced secondary leader who can operate confidently at executive level, drive school improvement, and work alongside senior leaders to deliver sustained improvements in outcomes, curriculum and leadership capacity.

You will have a strong track record within secondary mainstream education, ideally with experience of executive headship, multi-site leadership or working across a group of schools. Experience of working with Ofsted/HMI and inspection processes would be highly desirable. You will work closely with the CEO, Deputy CEO and School Advisory Board, providing expert challenge, support and leadership across multiple sites.

Responsibilities
  • Work directly with Headteachers and senior leadership teams to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted action plans.
  • Support schools to enhance teaching methods, curriculum alignment, and assessment strategies.
  • Lead coaching sessions for school leaders and middle managers to build leadership resilience and strategic capacity.
  • Analyse academic and behavioural data to assess progress and refine improvement strategies.
  • Drive initiatives to improve attendance, behaviour, inclusion, and student engagement, particularly for vulnerable groups.
  • Assist with curriculum development, ensuring consistency and high standards across departments.
  • Leadership qualifications such as NPQSL, NPQH, or similar (QTS essential)
  • Experience operating across multiple schools or within a Multi Academy Trust.
  • Familiarity with inspection frameworks and processes.
  • Successful track record of driving improvement in school performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of curriculum development from KS3 to KS5.

This role is 5 days per week on-site, split between the two schools and Head office. It is initially September- December but could turn into a permanent role from January. Paid on a day rate inside IR35.
