WRAP is a global environmental action NGO championing the shift towards a circular economy, fundamentally reshaping how we produce, consume, and manage resources. Where the systems that provide our everyday goods contribute to the world’s prosperity and sustainability instead of reducing it. WRAP is driving Circular Living through four key areas: accelerating the circular economy, future-proofing food, preventing problem packaging and transforming textiles. We catalyse action from policy makers, businesses, NGOs and citizens to make it happen. We have offices in the UK, USA and Australia, and live projects in over 30 countries.

As our Chief Programmes Officer (CPO), you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering WRAP’s global programme portfolio. Sitting on the Executive Team and reporting directly to the CEO, you will provide strategic direction across all programme areas and all geographies – from resource management and circular economy initiatives to food system transformation, packaging, and textiles. As CPO, you’ll lead the team to deliver impact, delight partners and funders, and ensure that our programmes are rooted in a deep understanding of commercial, economic and social drivers, as well as the very best environmental evidence. A key focus of the role is managing WRAP's dual delivery model, ensuring the quality, consistency, and impact of both direct delivery work and the programmes we deliver through strategic partners. This is a highly influential role with the opportunity to shape WRAP’s long‑term strategy, strengthen international programmes, and drive real, measurable environmental and societal outcomes at scale.

Expertise in at least one core WRAP programme area, such as food systems, packaging, textiles/fashion, behaviour change, or resource management (NetZero). Excellent communication, partnership‑building, and convening skills, with credibility across diverse audiences. Remote working/work at home options are available for this role.

Key Qualifications and Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction across WRAP’s global programme portfolio and lead the Programme team to deliver impact.
  • Oversee resource management, partnerships, and delivery across multiple geographies and programme areas.
  • Ensure programmes are underpinned by robust environmental evidence and aligned with commercial, economic, and social drivers.
  • Manage WRAP’s dual delivery model to maintain quality, consistency, and impact of both direct and partner‑delivered programmes.
  • Shape WRAP’s long‑term strategy and strengthen international programmes.
  • Engage with partners and funders to articulate policies, outcomes, and value of WRAP’s work.
Requirements
  • Expertise in at least one core WRAP programme area (food systems, packaging, textiles/fashion, behaviour change, or resource management).
  • Excellent communication, partnership‑building, and convening skills with credibility across diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid/remote environment with flexibility in core hours.
