Job summary

Care4Calais is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead our humanitarian charity across the UK and Northern France. You will work with the Board to shape strategy, oversee operations, and strengthen our fundraising and external representation.

You will lead senior teams, champion safeguarding and staff development, and ensure high-quality services while guiding the organisation through its next development stage.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in charity/NGO or humanitarian sector.
• Strong financial management, budgeting and fundraising skills.
• Experience reporting to a Board of Trustees and governance oversight.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience developing and supporting staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership with the Board of Trustees to set direction and ensure sustainable delivery.
• Oversee operations across the UK and Northern France, ensuring effective services and responsible use of resources.
• Lead and develop the senior management team and foster an inclusive, supportive culture.
• Represent the organisation publicly and build relationships with stakeholders and partners.
• Ensure governance, safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance.
