Care4Calais seeks a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead its growth and impact. You will work with the Board to set strategic direction, oversee operations across the UK and Northern France, and drive fundraising, governance and external representation.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in charity/NGO or humanitarian sector.
• Proven track record leading teams and managing complex operations across multiple locations.
• Strong financial management including budgeting, planning and income generation.
• Experience reporting to a Board of Trustees.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience representing an organisation externally (public speaking, advocacy or media).
• Ability to develop and implement strategies while staying involved in day-to-day operations.
• Experience developing teams in volunteer-led organisations.
• Strong understanding of governance, safeguarding and organisational risk.
• Resilience and adaptability to lead in changing environments.
• Experience supporting refugees or asylum seekers and knowledge of UK/European asylum policy would be advantageous.
• Commitment to refugee rights, equality and humanitarian values.

Responsabilités

• Work with the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver the charity's strategic vision and long-term plans.
• Oversee UK and Northern France operations, ensuring effective service delivery and responsible resource use.
• Lead and develop the senior management team and create an inclusive, accountable culture.
• Provide leadership to staff and volunteers, recognising their vital contributions.
• Take overall responsibility for financial management, budgets, controls and sustainability.
• Collaborate with fundraising to strengthen income streams and identify new funding opportunities.
• Represent Care4Calais publicly with media, policymakers and partners.
• Ensure governance, safeguarding, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor performance and report to the Board with opportunities for improvement.
• Champion wellbeing and development of staff and volunteers in demanding environments.
