Job summary

The London Borough of Waltham Forest invites applications for the role of Assistant Director – Housing Repairs & Planned Works. This senior leadership post carries strategic, operational and financial responsibility for the Council's housing repairs and maintenance service.

Reporting to the Director of Housing Management & Assets, you will lead a large service area with a £20m budget and five Heads of Service, driving improvements and embedding economy, efficiency and high-quality service

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading housing property, asset management, repairs, or maintenance.
• Senior strategic management experience in a large public-sector organisation.
• Experience leading multiple professional service areas and senior teams.
• Strong knowledge of housing, planning and regeneration issues.
• Understanding of national housing policy and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic leadership for Housing Repairs, Maintenance and Planned Works.
• Develop and deliver service strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
• Provide advice to Members and the Senior Leadership Team.
• Oversee delivery of repairs and planned works across housing stock.
• Manage a £20m service budget and drive value for money.
• Lead procurement, contracts and outsourcing for major programmes.
