Job summary

Palé Hall, part of Relais & Châteaux, seeks an experienced Head Housekeeper to lead the housekeeping team and uphold exceptional cleanliness and presentation across the property. This hands-on leadership role focuses on organising a busy operation, team development, and a strong guest experience.

You will manage daily workloads, training, and quality checks, coordinating with other departments to ensure a seamless service in a stunning Welsh setting.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience with supervisory or management responsibility.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in high standards.
• Confident in leading, motivating and organising a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to prioritise workloads and stay organised in a busy environment.
• Reliable, approachable and hands-on.
• Understands health and safety and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and motivate the housekeeping team.
• Plan daily workloads, rotas and staff allocation.
• Ensure rooms and communal areas are cleaned and presented to a high standard.
• Carry out regular quality and cleanliness inspections.
• Train, support and develop team members.
• Monitor stock levels and order cleaning products, linen and supplies.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and used safely.
• Collaborate with other departments for efficient service.
• Uphold health and safety, COSHH and infection-control procedures.
