Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking an Executive Director in Rates Quantitative Trading and Research to lead front-office quantitative research for rates models with measurable impact.

You will translate market opportunities into robust, production-ready solutions and balance innovation with disciplined risk controls. You will also manage and develop a local team, mentoring junior talent and setting strict technical standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (MS/PhD).
• Strong programming in Python and/or C++.
• Expertise in rates and interest rate derivatives.
• End-to-end development of quantitative models from research to production.
• Clear documentation of model development for independent review.
• Experience with model risk governance and review processes.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for trading/tech audiences.
• Experience leading and mentoring teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop pricing and risk models for structured rates to support product innovation and front-office decisions.
• Collaborate with Rates and Fixed Income Financing desks to translate ideas into robust models and controls.
• Implement quantitative models in Python and/or C++ with production-ready focus.
• Create model development documentation for review by risk partners.
• Work with technology to productionize, scale, and improve model reliability.
• Automate trading workflows and model-driven processes for efficiency and controls.
• Analyze market data to generate insights informing trading strategies.
• Lead and mentor a local team, guiding junior talent.
