Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is partnering with a leading care organisation in the North West to recruit an experienced Director of Operations. The role is a permanent, full-time position offering up to £90,000 per annum and a 40-hour week, with a strong emphasis on strategic leadership across autism and adult social care services.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within autism services, learning disabilities or adult social care.
• Proven experience leading multiple services or a large, geographically dispersed operational portfolio.
• Strong understanding of autism, person-centred care, safeguarding and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrable experience of strategic planning, service transformation and organisational development.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgetary control, resource allocation and improving service sustainability.
• Experience leading, developing and motivating senior management teams across complex services.
• A track record of improving service quality, operational performance and outcomes for people supported.
• Experience working with commissioners, local authorities, regulators and other key stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
• A commitment to promoting inclusion, independence, choice and positive outcomes for autistic adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of autism and adult social care services.
• Lead the development and delivery of the organisation's operational strategy, ensuring services meet long-term objectives.
• Take executive-level responsibility for service quality, performance, regulatory compliance and safeguarding.
• Oversee financial performance, budgets and resource allocation to ensure services remain financially sustainable.
• Drive service transformation, continuous improvement and the development of innovative, person-centred support.
• Lead and develop senior management teams, promoting accountability, strong leadership and workforce excellence.
• Ensure services deliver high-quality, person-centred support that meets the needs of autistic adults.
• Strengthen relationships with commissioners, local authorities, regulators and external stakeholders to support service development.
• Identify opportunities for growth, improve occupancy and referrals, and support the expansion of services.
• Provide strategic advice and operational insight to the executive team, contributing to organisation-wide planning and decision-making.
