Job summary

Starwood Hotels in Manchester is seeking an Exec Head Chef to lead multi‑kitchen operations, delivering excellence with a focus on sustainability and safe, positive working environments. You will develop hyper‑seasonal menus using local produce and mentor your team to maintain top quality even in your absence.

You must have 5+ years in similar roles, strong delegation skills, and a passion for learning and progression across all levels of the kitchen and hospitality.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience overseeing multi kitchens with high‑quality food.
• Strong interest in sustainable kitchen practices.
• Ability to develop menus aligned with brand guidelines.
• Commitment to training a team to maintain quality in your absence.
• Passion for learning and progression for self and team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with kitchen administration including food/labour costs and H&S.
• Proven track record in guest and team engagement and financial performance.

We’re currently in search of a passionate, ambitious Exec Head Chef to work closely with all hotel departments to deliver excellence, sustainability and a safe, positive and encouraging working environment.

Working closely with chef-partners across the hotel’s restaurant offering, this Exec Head Chef role will create and deliver hyper seasonal menus based on excellent local produce and sustainable kitchen practices. Leading by example, your enthusiasm for beautiful ingredients and excellent service will inspire and motivate your team to elevate their standards and achieve great things.

We’re looking for an Exec Head Chef who is a people magnet, a genius at anticipating obstacles and finding quick solutions. Most important, someone who knows when to get in the trenches with their team to achieve the ultimate outcome, and when to step back and allow emerging talent to shine. Sound like you? About you…

• 5 years' experience working in a similar role overseeing multi kitchens, with specific experience in delivering high-quality food
• A keen interest in sustainable kitchen practices
• The ability to develop menus in line with brand guidelines, with an eye on creating a strong reputation both locally and nationally
• A commitment to quality, and the ability to train a team to deliver exactly the same quality in your absence
• A passion for learning and progression, for yourself and your team
• An keen eye for detail
• The ability drive a clear, calm and organised busy environment
• An excellent communicator, both verbal and written
• Confident in kitchen administration, to include management of food and labour costs, Health and Safety and rotas.
• A proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
