Job summary

Starwood Hotels in Manchester is seeking an Exec Head Chef to lead the hotel's restaurant operations across multiple kitchens and collaborate with all departments to deliver excellence. You will design hyper-seasonal menus, source local produce, and set high standards in service and sustainability.

You will train and motivate the kitchen team, manage food and labour costs, health and safety, and rota planning while maintaining exceptional guest experiences and financial performance.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in a similar exec head chef role overseeing multiple kitchens.
• Strong focus on sustainable kitchen practices.
• Ability to develop menus aligned with brand guidelines.
• Commitment to quality and team training.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Skilled in managing food and labour costs, Health and Safety, and rotas.
• Leadership to motivate talent and drive performance.

We’re currently in search of a passionate, ambitious Exec Head Chef to work closely with all hotel departments to deliver excellence, sustainability and a safe, positive and encouraging working environment.

Working closely with chef-partners across the hotel’s restaurant offering, this Exec Head Chef role will create and deliver hyper seasonal menus based on excellent local produce and sustainable kitchen practices. Leading by example, your enthusiasm for beautiful ingredients and excellent service will inspire and motivate your team to elevate their standards and achieve great things.

We’re looking for an Exec Head Chef who is a people magnet, a genius at anticipating obstacles and finding quick solutions. Most important, someone who knows when to get in the trenches with their team to achieve the ultimate outcome, and when to step back and allow emerging talent to shine. Sound like you? About You…

• 5 years' experience working in a similar role overseeing multi kitchens, with specific experience in delivering high-quality food


• A keen interest in sustainable kitchen practices


• The ability to develop menus in line with brand guidelines, with an eye on creating a strong reputation both locally and nationally


• A commitment to quality, and the ability to train a team to deliver exactly the same quality in your absence


• A passion for learning and progression, for yourself and your team


• An keen eye for detail


• The ability drive a clear, calm and organised busy environment


• An excellent communicator, both verbal and written


• Confident in kitchen administration, to include management of food and labour costs, Health and Safety and rotas.


• A proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
