Reporting to the General Manager, the Executive Chef will lead the culinary team to elevate food offerings and ensure a consistently high standard of food safety and cleanliness.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Lead the culinary team with a hands-on approach in selecting, planning, organizing, and supervising kitchen operations, ensuring high productivity and optimal utilization of skills
  • Ensure every dish served is fresh, tasty, visually appealing, and complemented by attentive, warm service
  • Regularly solicit and value feedback from residents to enhance the dining experience
  • Evaluate performance and quality, making adjustments to elevate service standards
  • Dedicate at least 50% of your time to hands-on participation in food preparation and operations, guiding the kitchen team
  • Assess team performance to meet culinary objectives and maintain quality standards
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, including invoices, reports, and statistics, in line with Aspira policies and regulatory requirements
Who you are:
  • Possess a degree or diploma in culinary arts, with a food safety certification
  • Bring 3-5 years of experience in retirement living, hospitality, or related sectors, with leadership roles such as Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a culinary team, fostering growth and learning; excellent communication skills are essential
  • Hands-on experience managing kitchen budgets, controlling food costs, and supply ordering
  • Strong focus on resident satisfaction, understanding that meals are central to daily life
  • Adaptable, problem-solver, capable of balancing multiple tasks effectively
