Job description

The School of Medical Sciences is seeking a proactive and dynamic individual for the role of Executive Assistant to the Head of School & Director of School Operations. As part of the School Operations team, the successful candidate will provide high-level confidential administrative and project support to senior leadership, acting as the primary contact for the School Office. Additionally, they will support the School Operations Manager and oversee the small School Office team.

This role demands extensive experience in providing comprehensive administrative support at a senior level within a large, complex organization. Responsibilities include managing the School’s calendar, refining business processes, coordinating requests from senior staff, and supporting the Senior Leadership Team. The Executive Assistant will also serve as an office manager, supervising the Office team, allocating tasks, and improving systems and processes.

The role requires flexibility, excellent prioritization skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of support and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders, including educational institutions, NHS Trusts, and regulatory bodies. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation within the School and foster effective networking across the University.
